Because of technical and time limitation adding new content is a slow process. One aspect that is easy to expand are the visions that come via D'ni herbal preparations. These are animated gif files usually involving about 5-9 images. The more images the less we can do with spiffy transitions, but special effects can be included in the images themselves. So far each vision has been based around a theme -- either an age or a concept. We can also incorporate hints to future ages that are in ...

Elpis and I are adding more story lines as well as opening up the site to include work from other authors. We do have some technical and legal limitations that I can discuss with you in depth via email if you are interested in involving yourself and your characters at La Casa.

In short FoF asks the following of the team:

1. You must stay within the ever mysterious bounds of canon. This is a tough one because there are 5 games, 3 novels and many moths of MOUL, each having an effect ...

The external hard drive upon which I stored all my FoF archives, mostly graphics, has died and my household ubergeek says that the data is probably irretrievable. Of course, my data loss is far greater than the loss of files to this one website, and right now I have to focus on recovering other files from various backups, if such even exist. Since the external drive WAS the backup this means that I will have to rescan, recreate, retype, etc. a lot of stuff or just learn to live without.

Turns out the Google block on my website is from www.stopbadware.org -- a nanny group who seem to have gone over-board on blocking sites that fail to meet some technical standard that I do not comprehend. I have had trouble with them before. They blocked my site last year -- having found NOTHING AT ALL WRONG WITH THE SITE. They have reinstated the block this year and since not that much has changed I suspect the result will be the same and that I will have to do this every year for the rest ...

I am working on dividing the flymode book into two volumes. Vol. 1 is in Room 5 which is where Imzadi sleeps. Vol. 2 will be in Room 12 -- Sophrosyne's room. In addition to the hidden book there will be a link in her room to another locked room.

What I would love to get hold of is some program that will allow the visitor to unlock a door -- much as we did in the garden ages of Tsogla and Delin. I know that Richard Wakefield wrote a training program for prospective door callers, a program ...

I am inviting everyone who dreams of creating an URU age a chance to reveal that age at La Casa -- even if all they have are a few images. We can do this in two ways, a vision dream or a "descriptive book" from La Casa's private library. Both are animated .gif files and should include the most evocative complete images possible. These can be artistic renderings such as those we find as download-able wallpaper on the MOUL site, as photographs of natural or structural scenes that will ...

We have an agreement with Cyan Legal which in part forbids me from posting what the agreement says. For those who are working on La Casa and any subsequent ages keep in mind that we must treat Cyan and its creations with respect. Nothing we do must in anyway defame or denigrate Cyan or Cyan worlds. That said, we must respect canonically established plot points, nor may our fan-based story directly contradict Cyan's storyline. We may not use any Cyan created character in our story, except ...

If you are writing a text piece, please write it as much as possible as you wish it to appear on the webpage. Nothing will be published until it has been read, edited, and proofed. HTML coding is not the same as that used for the forum. It will help me if the final form of your text uses as much HTML code format as possible. These codes will appear here as codes, but it will allow me to cut and paste the text into the webpage without having to do a lot of code editing.

Original list needed as posted by Okaasan:

I have been working on some graphics by adapting images from URU. At present I have several notebook covers, which are available to anyone who wants to put in a new title. The cover graphic will link to a standard web page with the text -- be it a book, a diary, a scratch pad of doodles, whatever.

For those keeping journals, you need not have an entry for every day, nor a journal for every year. Focus first on the important events in the time-line ...

From Okaasan:

Quote:Because we are using HTML to create the web-pages of the FoF story there may come a time when some of our writers will want to create their own pages. I suggest that you use a web program such as Macromedia's HomeSite. Do NOT use the web code functions of word processors such as MicroSoft's Word or Corel's WordPerfect. Those programs make very messy code that is hard to edit or maintain.

IMHO, the best book for those learning HTML or in need of a reference is the ...

Request posted by Okaasan ....

I have several book series in mind, but could use some help in creating them. I have decided not to use the animated .gif format because it limits content and eats my computer's active memory.

The D'ni Knowledge Series

A limited edition "created" by the DRC to raise funds amongst prospective sources. Each volume covers an aspect of the D'ni ages from botany to technology. A book can not cover every single plant, machine, rock formation, etc. so we ...

As described by Okaasan February 5, 2008:

Quote:Based on the text and timelines posted elsewhere on this forum we will craft a non-linear telling of the FoF story. This can be done in a static, solo-player web-accessible way by using image maps -- graphics with embedded links that lead to other graphics or to text.

My html skills are a bit rusty but I understand the basics. We may need to find an uber-geek to smooth the rough edges.

To give you an idea of the vision so far:
